Knowledge base for the Yanmar Ke series: the Ke-13, Ke-14, Ke-16 and Ke-18 — compact 4WD diesel tractors (approx. 2004–2009). These models share one family but differ in engine: the Ke-13 and Ke-14 have the 3-cylinder Yanmar 3TNE68-UK2P (784 cc, 68 mm bore) with 13 and 14 hp respectively, the Ke-16 has the 3TNA72-UK2PH (879 cc, 72 mm bore, 16 hp) and the Ke-18 has the 3TNE74-UK2PH (1006 cc, 74 mm bore, 18 hp) — all three indirect-injection swirl chamber engines with a nominal 2500 rpm. As a result, the head gaskets and pistons, among other parts, are not interchangeable between the three engine groups. The oil filter, fuel filter and air filter are, however, identical across the entire series. The version codes: V = dual-speed steering on the front wheels (standard on almost all Ke-14/Ke-16/Ke-18 versions), U = UFO version (EG-UFO automatic horizontal leveling control), S = kibi version (sugarcane), OM = Okinawa loader version, M = loader version and N = narrow (narrow track); the Ke-13 was also available as a bare standard version. All models have an F8×R4 transmission, fully hydraulic power steering, wet multi-plate disc brakes and auto-rotary (automatic working depth control). Here you’ll find, per topic, buying advice, technical specifications, maintenance schedules with adjustment values, oil and filter info, operation and pre-glow, hydraulics/PTO and implements, fault diagnosis and storage — plus matching parts from Shop4trac. Please note: the older Yanmar KE-2/KE-3/KE-4A and the larger Ecotra KE20–KE60 are different series.
