Knowledge base for the Yanmar EG series: the EG220, EG222, EG224, EG227 and EG230 — modern compact diesel tractors (乗用型トラクター) with plenty of electronics. These models share one family line but differ in engine: the EG220, EG222 and EG224 have the 3-cylinder Yanmar 3TNV82A (1,330 cc, 82 mm bore, direct injection) with 20, 22 and 24 hp respectively, while the EG227 and EG230 have the larger 3TNV88 (1,642 cc, 88 mm bore) with 27 and 30 hp. As a result, among other things, the head gaskets and pistons are not interchangeable between the 82A and 88 groups. The oil filter and air filter, however, are the same across the whole series. The version codes: J = high-speed version (e.g. EG227J/EG230J, up to approx. 19 km/h, requires a heavy vehicle license for public road use), Q = cabin version, U = Nicety UFO (automatic implement leveling control) and X = J-change (electronically controlled HST transmission with reverser). By default, the models feature auto tilling depth control (耕深) and UFO leveling. Here you’ll find, per topic, buying advice, technical specifications, maintenance schedules with adjustment values, oil and filter information, operation and pre-glow, hydraulics/PTO and implements, troubleshooting and storage — plus matching parts from Shop4trac. Please note: the EG series was also sold domestically as the EF series (EF220/EF222/EF224/EF227/EF230).
