Yanmar EG220–EG230 engine oil filter

The engine oil filter is a spin-on cartridge with M20×1.5 thread and an outer diameter of approximately 80 mm. This filter is the same across the entire EG series — whether you have the 3TNV82A (EG220–224) or the 3TNV88 (EG227/230). Replace it the first time after 50 hours and then every 200 hours (or every second oil change).

Yanmar EG220–EG230 air filter

The air filter element is also the same across the entire series and is identical to the element used on the domestic EF series. Carefully clean the element with compressed air (from the inside out) every 50 hours and replace it every 300 hours — more often when working in dusty conditions. A clogged air filter costs power and causes black smoke.

Yanmar EG220–EG230 fuel and transmission filters

The fuel system has a strainer element with a water separator (with a red float ring): drain and clean it every 100 hours, especially if the red ring is raised. The transmission has a line filter (also used for hydraulics), and the J-change version additionally has a separate HST oil filter. Always use original or equivalent parts for these filters — the manual explicitly warns that an undersized filter causes malfunctions. Always check the exact fit of fuel and transmission filters against your serial/engine number.

💡 Product tip: for routine maintenance, you'll most often need the engine oil filter and the air filter on hand — these fit the entire EG series. Not sure about the fuel or transmission filter? Give us your engine number and we'll check the fit.
