Yanmar Ke-13 to Ke-18 Filters: Overview + Filter Set

Good news for every owner of a Yanmar Ke-13, Ke-14, Ke-16 or Ke-18: although the series has three different engine blocks, the oil filter, fuel filter and air filter are the same across the entire series. This article lists all filters, original part numbers and intervals from the manual.

Suitable for the entire series: Yanmar Ke-13, Ke-14, Ke-16 and Ke-18 (all versions).

Yanmar Ke-series filters: original numbers from the manual

Filter Original Yanmar no. (for reference) Dimensions Interval
Oil filter 119305-35151 M20×1.5 thread first 50 h, then every 200 h
Fuel filter element 104500-55710 (element), 119462-55620 (complete housing) Ø 35 mm every 300 h
Air filter element 119655-12560 Ø 90 mm, length 186 mm clean every 50 h, replace at 400 h
Transmission oil strainer in the crankcase clean/replace every 300 h

Replacing the Yanmar Ke-series oil filter

The oil filter is a standard spin-on cartridge with M20×1.5 thread. Replace it at every second oil change (every 200 hours), lubricate the rubber sealing ring with fresh oil and tighten the filter hand-tight plus a quarter turn. Then start the engine and let it run until the oil pressure light goes out — if this takes longer than 30 seconds, check the oil level and oil pressure switch (see the troubleshooting guide).

Yanmar Ke-series fuel filter and water separator

The fuel filter element sits in a transparent housing and must be replaced every 300 hours. First close the fuel valve ("C"), replace the element, reopen the valve ("O") and turn the ignition key to "on" for 5–10 seconds: the electric feed pump will then bleed the system automatically — manual bleeding is not necessary. Don't forget the water separator: drain it every 100 hours, and immediately when the red float touches the element.

Yanmar Ke-series air filter

Clean the air filter element (Ø 90 × 186 mm) every 50 hours by tapping it out or blowing compressed air through it from the inside (max. ±3 bar). Replace it at 400 hours — or earlier in case of damage or oil contamination. According to Yanmar's troubleshooting table, a clogged air filter is the first suspect in case of power loss, and with a diesel engine without a turbo, you'll notice this quickly.

Yanmar Ke-series: everything in one filter set

Because the three filters are the same across the entire series, we have bundled them into one maintenance set, based on the original part numbers listed above. This lets you carry out the complete 300-hour service in one go (in combination with the oil and fluid change from the oil and fluids guide).

Product tip: order the complete filter set Yanmar Ke-13 to Ke-18 (SKU-10090) — oil filter, fuel filter and air filter in one box. Only need the air filter? That's also available separately (SKU-20024).
