An Iseki TU167 (or TU147, TU157, TU177) stays reliable for years if you maintain it on time. In this article, we've put together the maintenance schedule and the most important adjustment values, so you know exactly what to check and when.
Suitable for the entire series: Iseki Landhope TU147, TU157, TU167 and TU177 (2WD and 4WD versions).
The schedule below is based on the standard maintenance structure for this generation of Iseki mini tractors: daily checks, and periodic services at 50, 100, and 300 operating hours.
| Interval | What to check |
|---|---|
| Daily / before use | Engine oil level, coolant level, fuel level, tire pressure, general visual check for leaks |
| Every 50 hours | Grease points (steering axle/kingpin, center pivot, clutch and brake pedal hinge points), fan belt tension, clutch and brake pedal play |
| Every 100 hours | Change engine oil and oil filter (first time recommended earlier after the break-in period), clean air filter element, check transmission/hydraulic oil level, check battery connections |
| Every 300 hours | Change transmission/hydraulic oil, clean/replace hydraulic filter, replace fuel filter, have toe-in (track alignment) checked, have valve clearance checked by a specialist garage |
For the exact oil types and capacities: see our page on Iseki TU167 engine oil and fluids. For filter numbers and the complete filter set: see Iseki TU167 filters.
| Part | Adjustment value | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Clutch pedal play | 20-30mm | Adjust via the locknut on the clutch rod |
| Brake pedal play | 30-40mm | Adjust via the 2 rods front/rear; always set left and right equally |
| Toe-in (front wheel track alignment) | 2-4mm | Have this adjusted by a specialist garage |
| Battery | Type 46B24R | Old type designation: NS60 |
| Fan/alternator belt | "Correct tension" by feel | Adjust by loosening the alternator bolt and repositioning the alternator; the factory manual does not provide an exact deflection value in mm |
An improperly adjusted clutch or brake is one of the most common complaints with these tractors. Too little clutch play causes the clutch to slip or not fully disengage; uneven left/right brake adjustment causes the tractor to pull to one side when braking. Both can be fixed with a few minutes of wrenching if you follow the values above. If you're still stuck despite correct adjustment, check out our troubleshooting page for further diagnosis.
Shop4trac tip: during a 100-hour service, you'll quickly need the oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter all at once. The complete filter set Iseki TU Landhope (€28.50) contains everything in one go, including the drain plug gasket. If cold starting becomes noticeably slower, also take the glow plugs Iseki TU Landhope 150-177 (€19.50) with you as a preventive measure.
