Kubota B1-14 through B1-17: filters and filter set

The filters on your Kubota B1-14, B1-15, B1-16 and B1-17 are small but crucial: they keep your diesel engine and hydraulics clean. The great thing is that all four models share the same filters, so one filter set covers the entire series.

Suitable for the entire series: B1-14, B1-15, B1-16 and B1-17, including the Zen-noh rebadges ZB1-14 through ZB1-17.

The B1 series has four filters that you replace or clean periodically:

  • Engine oil filter — a screw-on cartridge filter that keeps the engine oil clean. Replace roughly every 200 operating hours.
  • Fuel filter — captures water and dirt from the diesel before it reaches the injection pump. Replace roughly every 400 hours or annually. On an older vehicle that has stood idle for a long time, this is often the first culprit behind starting problems.
  • Air filter — clean the element roughly every 50 hours (tap it out, don't blow air through it from the inside) and replace it roughly every 400 hours or annually. A clogged air filter costs power and causes black smoke.
  • Hydraulic/transmission filter (strainer and element) — protects the lift and the transmission. Clean the strainer and replace the element at the oil change, the first time at 50 hours and thereafter roughly every 300 hours.

Hydraulic/transmission filter + strainer replace / clean 1st at 50 hrs, then ±300 hrs

Kubota B1-14 through B1-17: order separately or as a set?

You can buy each filter separately, but for a complete service a set is more economical and ensures you don't forget anything. For the engine components: the oil filter, fuel filter and air filter are the same for the B1-14 through B1-17, regardless of whether you have the D850 or the D950. Only the actual engine components (such as the head gasket) differ between the two engine families.

Filter tip: the Kubota B series filter set (SKU-10091) contains the standard filters for the B1-14 through B1-17. If you also want the oils and V-belt for a complete service, choose the complete maintenance set (SKU-100118). You can also find individual filters here: engine oil filter (SKU-002/5), fuel filter (SKU-150004) and air filter (SKU-200001).
