Looking for a Mitsubishi MTX15 filter set, or want to know exactly which filters your MTX13 uses? In this overview you'll find all four filters in this series — oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and hydraulic filter — with sizes, the replacement intervals from the manual, and practical tips for each filter. That way you order correctly in one go and replace them without surprises.
Suitable for the entire series: Mitsubishi MTX13D and MTX15D.
| Filter | Sizes | Interval | OEM reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oil filter | M20x1.5, Ø66 mm | First time 50 hrs, then every 100 hrs | MM409365 (for reference, verify by serial number) |
| Fuel filter | Ø29/13 mm, L 59 mm | Clean every 50 hrs, replace every 200 hrs | MM409892, incl. gasket (for reference, verify by serial number) |
| Air filter | Ø83 mm, L 188 mm | Clean every 50 hrs (in dusty conditions: daily) | 1030 0511 200 (for reference, verify by serial number) |
| Hydraulic filter | — | First time 100 hrs, then every 300 hrs | 1135 2452 000 (for reference, verify by serial number) |
The first three filters are all included in the Filter set MTX13/MTX15 (SKU-100119). The intervals align with the maintenance schedule for the MTX13 and MTX15.
Replace the oil filter (M20x1.5, Ø66 mm) at every oil change: the first time after 50 hours, then every 100 hours. When removing it, make sure the old rubber gasket comes off with it — if it stays stuck to the engine block, the new filter is guaranteed to leak. Lightly coat the rim of the new filter with fresh engine oil and tighten it hand-tight. For which oil to use, check our guide on engine oil and fluids for the MTX13 and MTX15.
Clean the fuel filter element (Ø29/13 mm, length 59 mm) every 50 hours as per the manual, and replace it every 200 hours. The procedure: first close the fuel valve, remove the filter housing, fit the new element with gasket, and then turn the valve back to OPEN — a classic mistake to forget, after which the engine won't start. Finally, bleed the fuel system, otherwise the diesel won't draw properly.
Important warning from experience: if the fuel filter keeps getting dirty quickly time after time, the fuel tank is often rusty or dirty on the inside. The manual specifies cleaning the tank every 300 hours regardless. If your filters keep getting "eaten up," address the tank first.
Clean the air filter element (Ø83 mm, length 188 mm) every 50 hours, and even daily when working in dusty conditions. Gently tap out the element or blow it clean from the inside out with compressed air — never from the outside, as that pushes dirt deeper into the paper. Never fit an air filter that is wet or damaged: a diesel engine that draws in unfiltered air wears out severely in a short time. If the element is saturated or torn, replace it with a Air filter separately (SKU-200002). A clogged air filter can incidentally be recognized by black smoke and loss of power.
Replace the hydraulic filter the first time after 100 hours, and then every 300 hours. Because the gearbox and hydraulics in this series share a single oil sump, this filter catches all the wear debris from the transmission. Is the lift slow, does it no longer rise, or do you hear a whining noise from the pump? Then a clogged hydraulic filter is the first suspect. You'll find more symptoms and solutions in our article on troubleshooting the MTX13 and MTX15.
With the Filter set MTX13/MTX15 (SKU-100119) you get the oil filter (M20x1.5 Ø66 mm), fuel filter (Ø29/13 mm L59 mm) and air filter (Ø83 mm L188 mm) in one package. Only need a new air filter? Then order the Air filter separately (SKU-200002).
