Is your Mitsubishi MT160, MT170, MT190, MT200, MT220 or MT240 going into storage for a while? With the right preparation, you can prevent starting problems, rust, and a dead battery. Below you'll find out how to prepare the tractor for winter, what to do during storage, and how to bring it back into reliable use.
Suitable for the entire series: Mitsubishi MT160, MT170, MT190, MT200, MT220 and MT240 (all 4WD).

Don't leave the tractor completely idle for months on end. Run the engine for about ten minutes roughly once a month to drive out moisture, circulate the lubrication, and recharge the battery. While doing so, check exposed metal parts and bolts and treat them against rust if necessary. If you store the battery separately, keep it charged with a trickle charger.
Before first use after storage, go through all the daily check points: engine oil and coolant level, tire pressure (front 1.2 / rear 1.0 kg/cm²), V-belt tension, and fuel. Reconnect the battery and restore anything you disconnected before storage. Start the engine, let it warm up, and do a short test run before really getting to work. If you're unsure about the oil or filters after a long period of inactivity, replace them right away — a fresh service is cheaper than damage.
