Solis 20 & 26 filters (MVL3E/MVS3L2)

Solis 20 & 26 filters: oil, air and fuel filter

Clean filters are the cheapest maintenance with the biggest impact on the lifespan of your Solis 20 or Solis 26. Below you'll find which oil filter, air filter and fuel filter you need, what the difference is between the older and newer models, and how to replace them.

Suitable for the entire series: Solis 20, Solis 20XL, Solis 26, Solis 26XL and Solis 26HST. The filters are largely shared between the 20 and 26 — with one important exception: the air filter differs by production year.

Solis 20 & 26 air filter: check the production year

Olie-, lucht- en brandstoffilter — let op het bouwjaar (luchtfilter).

The air filter is the only filter that depends on the production year of your tractor. Choose the wrong one and it won't fit the filter housing. If in doubt, check the old filter:

Version Air filter OEM for reference
Solis 20 / 26 before 2017 Older type (105 mm) 10055911AA
Solis 20 / 26 from 2017 Donaldson type (150 mm) P604457

An important detail: the Solis 20 originally has an oil bath air filter, while the Solis 26 uses a dry paper element. On models with the dry element, clean the filter according to the maintenance schedule and replace it at 750 hours (or earlier when working in dusty conditions or if the filter indicator lights up).

Solis 20 & 26 oil filter

Both models share the same Mitsubishi engine oil filter. Replace it every service together with the engine oil, and lightly coat the gasket with clean oil before installation.

Solis 20 & 26 fuel filter

The fuel filter should also be replaced every service. A clogged fuel filter is one of the most common causes of hard starting, power loss and rough running. After replacing it, bleed the fuel system.

  • Fuel filter: OEM reference 803007059A

Replacing filters: how to do it

  1. Turn off the ignition and let the engine cool down.
  2. Replace the oil filter together with the engine oil; lightly coat the gasket with clean oil.
  3. Replace the fuel filter; coat the gasket with clean diesel and then bleed the system.
  4. Clean or replace the air filter depending on the type and condition.
  5. After starting, check for leaks around all filters.

Bleeding the Solis 20 & 26 fuel system

After replacing the fuel filter, you need to bleed the system, otherwise the engine will start with difficulty or stall:

  1. Turn on the ignition so the electric fuel pump runs.
  2. Loosen the bleed screw (A) on top of the fuel filter housing.
  3. Tighten screw (A) again as soon as bubble-free diesel comes out.
  4. Loosen the bleed screw (B) on the fuel injection pump and let the air escape.
  5. Tighten screw (B) as soon as bubble-free diesel flows out.
💡 Shop4trac tip: The easiest option is to order a complete filter set. For models from 2017: the Filter set Solis 20 – Solis 26 from 2017 (SKU-10079-1) with Donaldson P604457 air filter and the drain plug seal. For older models the Filter set Solis 20 – Solis 26 (SKU-10079). Need it separately? Choose the engine oil filter (SKU-018) or the fuel filter Solis 20-26 (SKU-150019).
