Replacing Iseki TA filters: step by step | TA207–TA317

Replacing Iseki TA filters: step by step (TA207–TA317)

The filters on your Iseki TA Landleader are cheap, but the consequences of a clogged filter are not. In this article, we go through all four filters of the Iseki TA series, with the official intervals from the manual and the pitfalls when replacing them.

Suitable for the entire series: Iseki TA207, TA227, TA247, TA263, TA267, TA287 and TA317 (2WD and 4WD).

Iseki TA oil filter

According to the manual, the engine oil filter should be replaced every 400 hours, and preferably also at the first service after 50 hours. Always do this together with fresh oil: a new filter full of old oil serves little purpose. Lightly grease the rubber sealing ring with oil, tighten the filter hand-tight, and check for leaks after a test run. Does the oil pressure light not go out immediately after starting? Switch off the engine right away and find the cause.

Iseki TA fuel filter and bleeding

The fuel filter should be cleaned every 100 hours and replaced every 300 hours. If there is water or dirt in the filter bowl, clean it immediately – water in the fuel is disastrous for the fuel pump and injectors. After replacing it, the fuel system must be bled otherwise the engine will stall or won't start: open the fuel tap, loosen the bleed nipple on the filter housing, wait until diesel comes out without air bubbles, and close it again. Then start the engine and let it idle for a while. Air in the system is one of the most common causes of an Iseki TA that won't start after maintenance.

Iseki TA air filter

Clean the air filter element every 100 hours by tapping it out or blowing through it from the inside with compressed air (max. low pressure, never from the outside). After cleaning it five times, or if the paper is damaged, replace the element. A clogged air filter is recognized by black smoke and loss of power; a damaged element lets dust straight into the engine – resulting in wear on pistons and cylinders. Also regularly empty the dust valve (vacuator) at the bottom of the filter housing.

Iseki TA hydraulic filter: watch the warning light

The TA series has a hydraulic filter for the lift and transmission system, with its own warning light on the dashboard. If that light comes on, the filter is saturated and must be replaced – don't wait, because a clogged filter means poor lubrication and a sluggish lift response. The manual specifies replacement at the first 50 hours and then every 300 hours after that, or sooner if the light comes on. Use the monitor check switch to test whether the light itself still works.

Product tip: order all filters at once with the Complete maintenance kit Iseki TA | TA207 – TA317 | Landleader (VAR-100121). Only need an air filter? That's the Air filter Iseki TA (SKU-20008). For filter + engine oil together, there's the Engine oil filter + oil 15W40 set (SKU-15W402/001).
