Which filters does a Mitsubishi MT160, MT170, MT190, MT200, MT220 or MT240have, how often do you replace them, and which filter set gets you sorted in one go? Below we cover the oil, fuel, air and hydraulic filters, with the correct intervals from the manual.
Suitable for the entire series: Mitsubishi MT160, MT170, MT190, MT200, MT220 and MT240 (all 4WD).

| Filter | 1st time | After that |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil filter (spin-on) | after 50 hrs | every 100 hrs |
| Fuel filter | clean 50 hrs | replace ± 200 hrs |
| Air filter | — | clean, replace when contaminated |
| Hydraulic filter (spin-on) | after 100 hrs | every 300 hrs |
The S3L and S3L2 engines have a spin-on (cartridge) engine oil filter. Replace it together with the engine oil: the first time after 50 operating hours, then every 100 hours. When fitting, lightly oil the gasket, tighten the filter by hand until the gasket makes contact, and then add roughly another two-thirds turn. For the correct filter, see the engine oil filter Mitsubishi S3L / S3L2 (SKU-018).
The fuel filter keeps dirt and water away from the injection pump and injectors. Clean it roughly every 50 hours and replace it around the 200-hour mark — or sooner if the engine runs unevenly. For this series, the fuel filter with glass bowl (SKU-15011)fits, covering among others the MT190, MT200, MT220 and MT240. Bleed the fuel system after replacing it.
A contaminated air filter costs power and increases fuel consumption. Clean the element regularly (more often when working in dusty conditions) and replace it once it can no longer be cleaned properly. Check out the suitable air filter (SKU-200002) for the MT165–MT205 versions; verify the size for your machine.
The hydraulics and transmission share one oil sump; the spin-on hydraulic filter protects the lift pump and power steering. Replace it the first time after 100 hours and then every 300 hours. For the MT series, the Mitsubishi MT hydraulic filter (SKU-250007) is the right choice (including MT165–MT205).
