Iseki TU1400-TU1601: maintenance schedule and adjustment values

Iseki TU1400-TU1601: maintenance schedule and adjustment values

A mini tractor of this type can last for decades if you maintain it at the right times. The schedule and adjustment values below are identical for the 00 series (TU1400/1500/1600) and the 01 series (TU1401/1501/1601), because both generations share the same engine family and drivetrain architecture.

Suitable for the entire series: Iseki TU1400, TU1400F, TU1500, TU1500F, TU1600, TU1600F, TU1401, TU1401F, TU1501, TU1501F, TU1601, TU1601F.

Break-in period (first 50 operating hours)

With a freshly overhauled or "new" used tractor, the first period counts most heavily towards its lifespan:

  • Don't drive harder than necessary during the first ~50 hours and avoid heavy loads.
  • Always let the engine warm up at low RPM before starting work — this prevents poor oil pressure build-up and premature wear of rotating parts.
  • Avoid harsh acceleration and hard braking.
  • After the first 50 hours, change the engine oil and the transmission (mission) oil.
  • After the first 50 hours, clean the hydraulic oil filter.
  • Always have the periodic inspection carried out at 50 hours, after 1 year, and after 300 hours.

Maintenance intervals

Part Interval
Change engine oil Every 100 operating hours (after the first 50 hours)
Clean/replace engine oil filter (cartridge) Every 100 operating hours
Change transmission (mission) oil Every 300 operating hours (after the first 50 hours)
Fuel filter Every 100 operating hours
Oil pressure filter Check every 100 operating hours
Air filter Check/clean every 100 operating hours
Coolant (LLC) Fully replace every 2 years
Lubrication points (grease nipples) Every 50 operating hours
Front wheel hub grease (4WD) Every 900 operating hours

Adjustment values

Part Value
V-belt deflection (fan belt) 10–12 mm under normal thumb pressure
Clutch pedal free play 20–30 mm
Brake pedal free play 30–40 mm (equal on left and right!)
Steering wheel free play max. 30 mm
Safety switch clearance (clutch pedal) approx. 6 mm, always readjust after adjusting the clutch pedal

The safety switch ensures that the engine only starts with the clutch pedal fully depressed. Readjust this switch after every clutch adjustment, otherwise the tractor may fail to start.

Tire pressure per model

Model Front 2WD Front 4WD Rear
TU1400 / TU1401 1.4 kg/cm² 2.2 kg/cm² 1.8 kg/cm²
TU1500 / TU1501 1.4 kg/cm² 2.0 kg/cm² 1.6 kg/cm²
TU1600 / TU1601 3.25 kg/cm² (factory specification) 2.0 kg/cm² 1.6 kg/cm²

Tip: a worn or cracked V-belt is often only noticed when the charge warning light comes on (the alternator is no longer being driven). Replace the belt preventively at the first signs of wear — V-belt for Iseki K3 engine we have in stock.
