Iseki TH185-TH265 Engine Oil and Fluids
Suitable for the entire series: Iseki TH185, TH205, TH215, TH235, TH255 and TH265. Using the correct fluids and quantities is crucial for these tractors, especially since the transmission oil here also serves as hydraulic oil. The figures below come directly from the Iseki factory manual.

Recommended oil types
- Engine oil: Iseki Super Eco Diesel Engine Oil, 10W, CH-4/CF. As a practical alternative, a good 15W-40 diesel engine oil works well for these engines.
- Transmission/hydraulic oil: Iseki U·T·H oil, 80W (shared system — the transmission housing also serves as the hydraulic reservoir).
- Front axle oil: Multi Deluxe Gear Oil #80 GL-4 or Hypoid Gear Oil #80 GL-4.
- Rotary chain case oil (with original Iseki implement): Hypoid Gear Oil #140 GL-4.
- Grease: lithium soap grease (Uniloop No.2 or equivalent) for all grease fittings.
- Coolant: a long-life antifreeze/coolant (LLC type), not plain tap water without antifreeze.
Why this system is slightly different from what you're used to
With many compact tractors, the transmission and hydraulic systems are separate. On the TH185-265, everything runs through one circuit: the transmission housing also serves as the hydraulic reservoir. This means that contaminated or milky transmission oil isn't just a transmission issue—it can also indicate a hydraulic leak (for example, via a worn PTO coupling or lift cylinder). Therefore, always replace the transmission oil and filter together, as stated in the maintenance schedule (every 200 hours), rather than separately.
