An Iseki TU165 (or TU145, TU155, TU175) is built to last a long time, provided you don't neglect maintenance. In this article, we've laid out the maintenance schedule and the most important adjustment values for you, so you know exactly when to check what.
Suitable for the entire series: Iseki Landhope TU145, TU155, TU165 and TU175 (2WD and 4WD versions).
As with virtually every compact diesel tractor of this generation, there's a build-up from daily checks to larger services after a certain number of operating hours. The schedule below is based on the common maintenance structure for this Iseki generation and serves as a practical guide; if in doubt, always consult the engine oil and filter intervals from the relevant blogs below.
| Interval | Check points |
|---|---|
| Daily (before use) | Engine oil and coolant level, fuel level, tire pressure, lighting operation, check for visible leaks under the tractor |
| Every 50 operating hours | Check air filter and clean if necessary, grease lubrication points (steering shaft, center pivot, clutch and brake pedal hinge points), check fan belt tension |
| Every 100 operating hours | Replace engine oil and oil filter, check fuel filter, check clutch pedal and brake pedal play, check battery terminals and fluid |
| Every 300 operating hours | Check transmission/hydraulic oil and top up or replace if necessary, clean or replace hydraulic filter, have front wheel toe-in checked, have valve clearance checked by a professional garage |
For the exact oil types and capacities, please refer to our Iseki TU165 engine oil & fluidsblog, and for the filters to our Iseki TU165 filtersblog.
In addition to the fixed intervals, there are a number of adjustment values that you need to check regularly, which directly affect the safety and handling of your tractor.
| Component | Adjustment value | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Clutch pedal play | 20-30mm | Adjust via the locknut on the clutch rod |
| Brake pedal play | 30-40mm | Adjust via the two rods front and rear — make sure left and right are equal |
| Front wheel toe-in (track adjustment) | 2-4mm | Have this adjusted by a professional garage |
| Battery | Type 46B24R (old designation: NS60) | Check terminals and fluid level regularly |
| Fan/alternator belt | Adjust by feel | Adjust tension by loosening the alternator bolt and moving the alternator; the manual does not provide an exact deflection value in mm |
Pay particular attention to clutch and brake pedal play: too little play causes gradual wear and overheating, while too much play causes the pedal not to fully engage. If in doubt about the cause of a poorly functioning clutch or brake, you can find the corresponding symptoms and solutions in our Iseki TU165 faultsblog.
Regularly grease the lubrication points (steering shaft/kingpin and center pivot on the 2WD version, plus the clutch and brake pedal hinge points on all versions), especially if the tractor is kept outdoors a lot. Check the battery carefully during long periods of inactivity — more on this in our Iseki TU165 seasonal maintenanceblog. And if you're unsure about engine oil quality, always stick to the correct viscosity: oil that's too thin can also be a cause of an illuminated oil pressure light.
For your periodic maintenance service, the complete filter set Iseki TU Landhope (oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and drain plug gasket) is the most convenient choice at €28.50 — everything you need for a complete service in one go. If you notice cold starting is getting slower and slower, preventively replace the glow plugs Iseki TU Landhope 150-177 (€19.50).
