Suitable for the entire Kubota GL series: GL201, GL221, GL241, GL261, GL277, GL281, GL301, GL321, GL337, GL367, GL417 and GL467 (also known as the Hinomoto NX series). Many filters fit multiple models – but do pay close attention to the correct size.
Clean filters are the cheapest life insurance for your Kubota GL series (GL201 through GL467). Oil, air, and fuel filters keep dirt out of your engine and hydraulics – and a clogged filter costs power, fuel, and ultimately expensive damage. In this blog you'll find out which filters the GL201 has, when to replace them, and which detail on this model you really need to pay attention to.
| Filter | Function | Replace |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil filter | Keeps the engine oil clean | 1st after 50 hrs, then every 200 hrs |
| Air filter | Protects the engine from dust | clean every 100 hrs, replace annually |
| Fuel filter | Protects the injection system | every 400 hrs |
| Hydraulic oil filter | Keeps transmission/hydraulics clean | 1st after 100 hrs, then every 200 hrs |
An important point of attention: the GL201 has a different air filter compared to some other GL models. That's why you'll see the warning "check air filter" when ordering a filter set. So check the size of your current air filter (outer and inner diameter and length) before ordering, or send us a photo – this way you avoid receiving a filter that doesn't quite fit. Not sure? Just ask us, and we'll find the right filter for you.
It's most convenient to replace the oil, fuel, and air filters at the same time during maintenance. Don't replace them one at a time: an old fuel or air filter immediately costs power and increases consumption, and a worn oil filter lets dirt through to your engine. A complete filter set is therefore cheaper and faster than sourcing individual filters separately.
When changing the oil, don't forget the copper drain plug gasket This is often forgotten, causing oil to leak past the drain plug – replace it as standard. You can find out exactly how much oil goes in in our blog about engine oil and fluids for the GL201.
