Yanmar AF series: engine and power per model

The heart of the difference lies in the engine. The series uses two three-cylinder diesel engines from the Yanmar 3TN family: the 3TNS82 (82 mm bore, 1425 cc) for the AF-22 and AF-24, and the larger 3TNS84 (84 mm bore, 1496 cc) for the AF-26 through AF-33. Both share the same stroke (90 mm) and are water-cooled with a Bosch injection pump.

Note the difference in engine speed: the AF-26 and AF-28 deliver their power at 2500 rpm, while the AF-30 and AF-33 run the same 3TNS84 block at a higher speed (2800 rpm) for more horsepower. So displacement is identical within the 84 mm group — the difference lies in the tuning.

Yanmar AF series: dimensions and weight per model

In addition to the engine, the chassis also grows with the model number. There are three size classes: the AF-22/24 (wheelbase 1540 mm), the AF-26/28 (1640 mm), and the AF-30/33 (1800 mm). This is reflected in length, weight and stability.
