With 27 HP, a category I 3-point hitch category I and a two-speed power take-off (PTO), the Iseki TE4270 is a versatile mini tractor for garden, land, and light agricultural work. In this guide, we'll cover what the TE4270 can handle — and where its limits lie.
The PTO has two speeds, with these (factory-specified) rotation speeds:
| PTO setting | PTO speed | Corresponding engine speed |
|---|---|---|
| Setting 1 | 540 rpm | 2,280 rpm |
| Setting 2 | 1,000 rpm | 2,540 rpm |
The PTO shaft is a JIS 35, 6-spline design. The 540 setting is your workhorse for most implements (tiller, mower, flail mower); the 1,000 setting is used for implements that require a high rotation speed. You shift using the PTO speed lever; the drive itself is engaged with the PTO clutch lever (and on the independent version, with the PTO switch).
The TE4270 has a category Ihitch, hydraulically operated, with position control (and on the M/P/S types, optional draft control). Practical points from the manual:
With 27 HP, the TE4270 falls into the light-to-medium segment of mini tractors. A fair assessment per implement:

The TE4270 weighs 1,020 kg (2WD) to 1,110 kg (4WD). That's enough for most garden and land tasks, but with heavy pulling work (plowing in wet clay) you may run into traction or power limits. Three practical solutions: add ballast weight, engage 4WD, and shift down to a lower gear so the engine stays in its torque range.
"Does a standard tiller fit?" Yes, provided it's category I and has a suitable working width. The lift rods even have a separate adjustment hole for the rotary tiller.
"How much can it tow?" It's suitable for light trailers/implements via the tow hitch; for heavy pulling work, weight is the limiting factor, not HP alone.
"Can I mount a front loader on it?" Yes, on suitable versions — first increase the front tire pressure to 1.5× the normal value (see the side of the tire or the manual), as prescribed by the manufacturer.
