Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 specifications complete

Here you'll find the complete Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 specifications, taken directly from the original factory manual. Whether you have the GS16, GS18, GS20, GS21, GS23 or GS25: the tables below list the engine data, dimensions, tires, speeds and PTO speeds per model, so you know exactly what your machine can do.

Suitable for the entire series: Mitsubishi GS16, GS18, GS20, GS21, GS21S, GS23, GS25 and GS25S.

Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 engine and general data

The entire series is four-wheel drive and has a water-cooled 4-stroke three-cylinder diesel engine. The GS16 through GS20 use the S3L (1,125 cc), the GS21 through GS25 the larger S3L2 (1,318 cc).

Model Engine type Displacement Power (kW/hp) at 2,500 rpm
GS16 S3L-16A 1,125 cc 11.8 kW / 16 hp
GS18 S3L-17A 1,125 cc 13.2 kW / 18 hp
GS20 S3L-18A 1,125 cc 14.7 kW / 20 hp
GS21 / GS21S S3L2-14A 1,318 cc 15.4 kW / 21 hp
GS23 S3L2-15A 1,318 cc 16.9 kW / 23 hp
GS25 / GS25S S3L2-16A 1,318 cc 18.4 kW / 25 hp

Common engine data: diesel fuel, tank capacity 23 liters, battery 12 V / 36 Ah (type 55B24R), starter motor 12 V / 1.6 kW and alternator 12 V / 50 A.

Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 dimensions and weight

The length is measured to the end of the lower lift arms; the height to the top of the safety frame (ROPS). Values differ slightly per equipment grade.

Model Length Width Height (ROPS) Ground clearance Weight
GS16 2,650 mm 1,105 mm 1,820-1,870 mm 305-315 mm 780-805 kg
GS18 2,650 mm 1,105 mm 1,900 mm 335 mm 810 kg
GS20 2,650 mm 1,105 mm 1,900 mm 335 mm 810 kg
GS21 / GS21S 2,650-2,710 mm 1,145-1,150 mm 1,820-1,925 mm 265-360 mm 800-860 kg
GS23 2,710 mm 1,150 mm 1,925 mm 360 mm 870 kg
GS25 / GS25S 2,710 mm 1,115-1,150 mm 1,890-1,950 mm 315-360 mm 870-880 kg

Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 transmission, brakes and steering

All models have the same drivetrain setup: a dry single-plate clutch, a mechanical gearbox with constant mesh plus sliding selection, and 8 forward and 8 reverse gears. The brakes are wet disc brakes, individually operable on the left and right and lockable for road transport. Steering is via hydrostatic power steering (orbitrol).

Component Specification
Clutch Dry single plate
Brake Wet disc brake, left/right
Steering Hydrostatic power steering (orbitrol)
Gears 8 forward / 8 reverse
Forward travel speed approx. 0.8 – 14.5 km/h
Min. turning radius 1.8 m (GS16-GS20) / 1.9 m (GS21-GS25)

Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 tires and track width

Tire sizes increase with the model and equipment grade. Rear track is adjustable in two positions on most models.

Model Front tire Rear tire Wheelbase
GS16 6-12 / 5.00-12 8.3-20 / 8-18 1,380 mm
GS18 6.00-12 8.3-22 1,380 mm
GS20 6.00-12 8.3-22 1,380 mm
GS21 / GS21S 6-14 / 5.00-12 8.3-24 / 8-16 1,380-1,450 mm
GS23 6-14 9.5-22 1,450 mm
GS25 / GS25S 6-14 / 6.00-12 9.5-24 / 9.5-22 1,440-1,450 mm

Mitsubishi GS16-GS25 PTO and lift system

The PTO is a JIS 35 shaft with multiple speeds. On the lighter models (GS16 to GS21) the PTO runs at 566, 816 or 1,310 rpm forward and 952 rpm reverse; on the GS23, GS25 and GS25S it's 589, 849 or 1,362 rpm forward and 990 rpm reverse. The three-point lift system is a category 0 (JIS 0) with position control; depending on the version, with automatic depth and tilt control.

Component Specification
PTO shaft JIS 35
PTO speeds (GS16-GS21) 566 / 816 / 1,310 forward, 952 reverse
PTO speeds (GS23-GS25) 589 / 849 / 1,362 forward, 990 reverse
Lift system 3-point, category 0 (JIS 0)
Lift control Position control (PAC/JAC/MAC versions)

Product tip. Knowing the exact specs also tells you which parts fit. The engine parts are shared with the entire S3L/S3L2 family: the Filter set Mitsubishi GS series (SKU-100164), the starter motor 12 V / 1.6 kW (SKU-1290016) and the water pump (SKU-323) fit the GS16-GS25.
