Description

New 12V 40A alternator for the Perkins 400 series (403D-15 and 404D-22) and Caterpillar engines C1.1, C1.5, and C2.2, as used in Caterpillar generator sets and industrial applications. A direct 1-to-1 replacement for Perkins T415996 and Caterpillar 394-3492. This is the Delco Remy 8SI type with a 73 mm pulley and an M8 B+ terminal.

This alternator is primarily used on stationary engines and generator sets. Mini excavators, skid steer loaders, and telehandlers with the same Perkins engine usually feature a heavier-duty alternator, see below.

Please note:

• Check the part number and amperage on your old alternator. The Perkins 404D-22 and Caterpillar C1.1 to C2.2 engines also use 65 A and 85 A alternators, featuring a different housing and B+ / D+ / W connections. • Other Perkins 40A alternators are not interchangeable: the Mitsubishi 40A (Perkins 185046320, JCB 02/631300) has a pulley of approx. 70 mm and B+ M5.
