Looking for the technical specifications of your Iseki SIAL? Below you'll find everything in one place — straight from the official manual. Handy as a reference for maintenance, for comparing listings on the used market, and of course for ordering the right parts. The three horsepower variants TF15, TF17 and TF19 share the same base, but differ in engine, weight and — depending on the version — tires and ground clearance.

Engine

All three models have a water-cooled, 3-cylinder 4-stroke diesel without turbo. The difference lies in displacement and power output. All engines run at 2500 rpm at rated power.

Feature TF15 TF17 TF19
Engine type E390-DB E3100-DB E3112-DB
Type Water-cooled, 4-stroke, 3-cylinder diesel
Displacement 900 cc 1006 cc 1123 cc
Power 15.5 HP (11.4 kW) @ 2500 rpm 17.5 HP (12.9 kW) @ 2500 rpm 19.0 HP (13.9 kW) @ 2500 rpm
Fuel Diesel oil JIS no. 2-3 (no. 3 for severe cold)
Tank capacity 20 liters
Starting system Electric starter with glow plug preheating
Battery 12 V, 45 Ah

In practice: the difference between a TF15 and a TF19 is about 3.5 HP and 30 to 35 kg of extra engine weight. For light work (flail mowing, sweeping, light tilling on sandy soil), the TF15 is perfectly sufficient. If you're doing heavier tilling or plowing on heavier soil, you'll notice the difference in pulling power of the TF19.

Dimensions and weight

Overall dimensions vary by version. The 'N' versions (narrow) are narrower and lighter, while the 'HF-S' version has notably higher ground clearance — intended for row-crop work where you need to drive an implement between crops.

Feature TF15F-P TF15NF TF17F-P TF17HF-S TF19F-P TF19NF
Length (mm) 2500 (to rear of lower links)
Width (mm) 1040 1040 1090 1115 1090 1090
Height (mm) 1905 1850 1935 1970 1965 1875
Wheelbase (mm) 1295 1295 1365 / 1385 1365 / 1385 1365 1295
Ground clearance (mm) 305 285 315 400 325 300
Weight (kg) 700 670 715 815 735 700

With weights between 670 and 815 kg, this tractor generally falls into the light category — handy for trailer transport and for work on soft ground where you don't want to leave deep tracks.

Transmission

The SIAL TF has a gear-shift system that combines constant-mesh and selective-mesh gears. This means: sturdy and reliable, but you do need to use the clutch to shift (no synchromesh like in a car). The clutch is a dry single-plate type; the brakes are wet disc brakes running in an oil bath.

Feature Standard version G version (Linear shift)
Forward 6 gears 6 gears
Reverse 2 gears 6 gears
Power steering Optional / standard on U version Standard
Turning radius 1.70 m (TF15) / 1.80 m (TF17, TF19)

The G version comes in handy if you do a lot of maneuvering, for example with a front loader or in a narrow greenhouse — then you have just as many reverse gears as forward gears.

Tires and tire pressure

Tire size differs by version. The 'N' variants run on narrower tires (handy in narrow paths and greenhouses), the standard versions run on the wider size.

Model / version Front tire Rear tire Front pressure (kgf/cm²) Rear pressure (kgf/cm²)
TF15 (standard) 5.00-12 4PR 8-18 4PR 2.0 1.6
TF15 (N version) 5-12 4PR 8-16 4PR 2.0 1.6
TF17 (standard) 6-12 4PR 8.3-20 4PR 2.0 1.6
TF17 (06 version) 6-12 4PR 8.3-20 4PR 1.8 1.6
TF17 (HS version) 6-12 4PR 8.3-20 4PR 1.8 1.6
TF17HF-S 6.00-12 4PR 8.3-22 4PR 2.0 1.6
TF19 (standard) 6.00-12 4PR 8.3-22 4PR 1.8 1.6
TF19 (N version) 5.00-12 4PR 8-18 4PR 2.0 1.6

1 kgf/cm² = approximately 0.98 bar. Always check tire pressure when tires are cold, before the first job of the day.

PTO

The PTO has three fixed speeds. Position 2 (730 rpm) is close to the well-known 540 standard — usable for many standard implements. Position 3 (1187 rpm) is handy for implements that require a higher speed, such as some rotary mowers or pumps.

Feature Value
PTO clutch type Standard, mechanically actuated
Speed position 1 / 2 / 3 (standard) 524 / 730 / 1187 rpm
Speed position 1 / 2 / 3 (G version) 522 / 728 / 1183 rpm
Reverse PTO (Z version) 540 / 753 / 1224 rpm
Shaft size 6-spline, ⌀35 mm
Drawbar Fixed drawbar

Hydraulics and 3-point hitch

The 3-point hitch is JIS category 0 — a globally common size for compact tractors in this power segment. Standard implements for mini tractors (tiller, flail mower, small plow) generally fit without issues, possibly with adapter pins.

Feature Value
Control system Position control (WX version: electronic)
3-point type JIS category 0
Hydraulic filter In the transmission case (see maintenance schedule)

The WX version has an electronic lift with draft control — it automatically adjusts the lift height based on soil resistance. On non-WX variants, the lift works purely via position control: the lever position determines the height.

Fluid capacities

Electrical system — fuses

The fuse box is usually located under the hood, near the battery. Eight working fuses plus a set of spares. All fuses are standard mini-blade type and are available both from Iseki dealers and in general retail.

No. Circuit Rating
Fuel system (solenoid, stop solenoid) 3 A
Ignition switch / stop circuit 5 A
Generator, instrument panel 10 A
Lighting, horn, turn signals 15 A
Electronic lift (WX), super full-turn, fulltime 4WD 15 A
Ignition switch stop (secondary) 10 A
Spare supply / extra options 15 A
Spare fuses 3 A, 10 A, 15 A

There is also a fusible link (green fuse wire) and a 50 A slow-blow fuse in the main power supply — these protect the entire electrical system against short circuits. If both fuses are fine but you still get no power on the dashboard, check these two first.

Version codes — what means what?

The Iseki SIAL was supplied in many variants. The model code contains letters that indicate the version. Below are the codes that appear in this manual.

Code Meaning Feature
TF15 / TF17 / TF19 Model designation + HP class 15.5 / 17.5 / 19.0 HP engine power
F Standard frame (agri) Regular version
N / NF Narrow frame Narrower track, narrower tires, lighter
HF-S High-frame Special (high bed) Extra high ground clearance (400 mm) for row-crop work
F-P Standard with Power option Standard version with package options
G Linear shift / equal gears 6 forward + 6 reverse, power steering standard
U Version with power steering Power steering as standard
Z Reverse PTO Extra PTO speeds with reversed rotation direction
WX Electronic lift Electronic position and draft control
HS High Speed Higher transport speed
06 Variant with adjusted tire pressure 1.8 kgf/cm² front instead of 2.0
K / H Version with increased capacity Transmission 11.0 l (instead of 10.0), front axle +0.5 l

What do these specs mean in practice?

The SIAL TF series was deliberately designed as an all-rounder in the 15–19 HP segment. With the engine power, the 3-cylinder torque and the JIS 0 3-point hitch, you cover the whole spectrum from garden and hobby work to small-scale agricultural work. The 4WD versions (front axle with its own oil bath) make it suitable for heavy pulling and tilling work, even on wet or completely bare terrain. If you're primarily flail mowing, sweeping, or pulling a trailer on paved paths, the 2WD variant will also serve you well.

The key to a long service life comes down to two things: the right type of oil in each compartment (see table above) and respecting the maintenance interval. Because a 3-cylinder Iseki diesel engine can easily last 5000+ hours with a bit of attention.
