Description

New starter motor for the Perkins 400 series with the compact 1.4 kW Denso starter motor, as found on the 404C-15 and 404D-15. This version is used on, among others, the Job Mann 200-35 and 202-35 wheel loaders, the Scan Loader SL3502, and the Kioti CS2610 with Shibaura S773L. A direct 1-to-1 replacement for Denso 428000-3570 and Perkins 185086680.

Please note:

Multiple starter motors exist for the Perkins 400 series and Shibaura engines that look similar and also have 9 teeth. They are not simply interchangeable. Therefore, always check the number on your old starter motor:

• This 1.4 kW version can be identified by Denso 428000-3570 or 428000-2540, Perkins 185086670 or 185086680, Bosch 0001108181 or Weidemann 1000214983 / 1000299581.
• The 1.1 kW version (Bosch 0001107078, Hitachi S114-381, Perkins U5MK8259 or 185086321) also has a 74 mm mounting flange and 9 teeth, but the solenoid is at a different angle (+43°). The Kioti CS2610 and some Weidemann models with Perkins 403D-11 can be found with both versions. You can find that one here: starter motor Shibaura / Perkins 1.1 kW.
• The 2.0 kW version (Bosch 0001109035, Perkins U5MK8260 or U5MK8261) is heavier and is fitted on most Perkins 403D-15 and 404D-22 engines. The Weidemann 1250 CX35 with Perkins 404C-15 is listed in sources with both versions. You can find that one here: starter motor Perkins 403D | 404D 2.0 kW.
• The 1.2 kW version (Hitachi S114-218, JCB 714/40460) also has 9 teeth, but the solenoid is positioned at +82°. This is fitted on the Perkins 403D-07 in the JCB 8008 CTS and on the Ford and New Holland 1100 to 1300. You can find that one here: starter motor Perkins 403D-07 | JCB 8008 CTS 1.2 kW.
• Perkins 185086620 is mentioned by some suppliers for this Denso starter motor, but cross-reference lists indicate it belongs to the 1.1 kW version. If your old starter motor has this number, please choose the 1.1 kW version.
