A screw-on cartridge, unscrew it counterclockwise with a filter wrench after draining the oil. Lightly coat the rubber ring of the new filter with oil and tighten it hand-tight plus a quarter turn. Then start the engine and check that the oil pressure light goes out; check the level afterwards. The engine oil filter for the F series fits the 3TN engine family of these tractors.

Yanmar F195–FX265 air filter

Blow the dry element clean from the inside out with compressed air; damaged pleats mean immediate replacement. If you work in dusty conditions, clean it every 50 hours and replace it sooner. Don't forget the radiator screen either: the pull-out mesh in front of the radiator catches chaff and straw and must be cleaned before and after every workday — a clogged screen is the number one cause of overheating. Matching element: air filter Yanmar F series.

Yanmar F195–FX265 fuel filter

The fuel filter sits in a transparent bowl: close the fuel tap, remove the bowl, discard water and sediment, and replace the element every 300 hours. After any work on the fuel system, you need to bleedit: fill the tank, open the tap, set the throttle to maximum, pull the decompression lever, and let the starter motor run for about 10 seconds. Matching element: fuel filter Yanmar.

Yanmar F195–FX265 hydraulic filter: the often forgotten filter

Because the transmission and hydraulics share the same oil, this series has a separate spin-on hydraulic filter (line filter). If it's never replaced, you'll get the classic complaints: a whining or rattling hydraulic pump and a lift that works slowly or jerkily. The hydraulic filter Yanmar (OEM reference 194250-48310) fits the entire F195 through FX265 series. Replace it every 300 hours, at the same time as the transmission oil.
