Proper maintenance keeps your Kubota B7001 running for decades. In this maintenance schedule you'll find exactly what to do and when — from the daily pre-start check to the major services every 300 hours — plus the official adjustment values for the V-belt, clutch, brake and steering from the Kubota manual. All data comes directly from the original B7001/B7001E manual and also applies to the B6001 and the Zen-Noh ZB variants.
Suitable for the entire series: Kubota B7001, B7001E, B7001DT, B6001 and Zen-Noh ZB7001 / ZB6001.
Has your engine just been overhauled, or is the tractor new to you? Take it easy during the first hours: don't load the engine fully right away, avoid prolonged full throttle, and keep a close eye on the oil level. The manual prescribes a first engine oil change after the running-in period — don't skip this, as the break-in particles need to be removed.
Go through these points briefly every working day: engine oil level, coolant level, fuel, tyre pressure, checking for leaks under the tractor, brake and clutch operation, and whether the lights and charge warning light work. A few minutes of checking prevents most costly breakdowns.
| Interval | Task |
|---|---|
| Every 50 hours | Clean the hydraulic oil filter |
| Every 75 hours | Change engine oil (first time already after the running-in period) |
| Every 100 hours | Clean the air filter element |
| Clean the fuel filter | |
| Check the injector nozzle — replace if power loss occurs | |
| Check the fuel line | |
| Check V-belt (fan belt) tension | |
| Check clutch play | |
| Check brake play | |
| Check steering play | |
| Every 150 hours | Replace oil filter cartridge |
| Check radiator hoses | |
| Every 300 hours (oil change) | Transmission case (transmission/hydraulics), steering gearbox and mid-mount mower gearbox |
| Front axle + front wheel gear cases left/right (4WD only) | |
| Every 500 hours | Clean radiator internally |
| Interval | Task |
|---|---|
| Every 1–2 months | Recharge the battery |
| Every 3 months | Change coolant |
| Every year (or after 6× cleaning) | Replace air filter element |
| Every 4 years | Replace battery |
| Replace radiator hoses + clamps | |
| Replace fuel line + clamps |
During the 100-hour check, you need to adjust four things. These are the exact values prescribed by Kubota:
| Component | Correct value |
|---|---|
| V-belt (fan belt) deflection | ± 10 mm at ± 10 kgf pressure applied to the middle of the belt |
| Clutch play | 3 ± 1 mm (free travel); correct pedal travel margin 8 mm |
| Brake play left/right | 2–10 mm, adjust left and right equally |
| Steering play | 0–30 mm measured at the outer edge of the steering wheel |
Always adjust the two brake pedals to an equal play and then link them together before driving on the road — uneven braking will pull the tractor sideways when braking. The V-belt drives both the water pump and the dynamo; a belt that's too loose causes overheating and a dead charge warning light.
The B7001 doesn't come with an hour meter from the factory (it was available as an optional attachment). Keep a log of your operating hours in a notebook or fit a simple hour meter, so you can maintain the intervals listed above. Do you use few hours per year? Then also follow the calendar-based intervals — coolant changes and hose replacements in particular age regardless of hours used.
